Uganda is a developing country, with more than a third of the country's population living on less than $1.25 a day. While the country has made great progress in the past two decades, it lags behind the Millenium Development Goal targets of improvement to be reached by 2015 in order to decrease extreme poverty and HIV prevalence, and improve access to education and healthcare.
